-- Iran urges US to stop breach of JCPOA immediately, unconditionally
Iran on Wednesday urged the United States to quit its "addiction to use unilateral coercive measures" and immediately stop its violation of the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the JCPOA, without any preconditions.
Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency, told a meeting of the IAEA’s Board of Governors that Tehran is yet to see enough determination on the part of Washington to live up its JCPOA commitments and lift sanctions three years after its unilateral withdrawal from the landmark agreement between the Islamic Republic and world powers.
-- AEOI chief: Cameras monitoring nuclear sites under JCPOA not active
Cameras monitoring activities at Iranian nuclear sites installed under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) are not active, said the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI).
Speaking on the sidelines of the Wednesday meeting of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Mohammad Eslami added a number of cameras had been installed at Iranian nuclear sites under the JCPOA, signed between Tehran and the P5+1 in 2015, IRNA reported.

President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi is set to partake in the annual summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe where Iran is expected to push for permanent membership.
The two-day summit of the group that comprises eight member countries is being held in hybrid mode.
The meeting focuses on boosting trade among member states, combating the coronavirus pandemic, the situation in Afghanistan in the wake of the Taliban's mid-August takeover, and climate change.

-- Iran Resumes Afghan Flights With Humanitarian Aid
Iran on Wednesday resumed commercial flights to Afghanistan that had been halted after the Taliban assumed power, shipping its first humanitarian aid consignment for the Afghan people.
The Fars news agency reported that a charter return flight transported passengers and humanitarian aid from Tehran to Kabul. It said a second flight from northeastern city of Mashhad left for Kabul, too.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has named Ali Baqeri Kani, a senior diplomat, to replace Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, chief negotiator in talks on Tehran's 2015 nuclear deal with world countries.
Baqeri, who was named deputy foreign minister for political affairs, had been a senior negotiator in nuclear talks between Iran and the West under former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from 2007 to 2013.
-- Security Measures ‘Reasonably Tightened’ at Nuclear Sites
Iran’s governor to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says security measures at the country’s nuclear facilities have been reasonably tightened after the UN agency claimed inappropriate security checks of its inspectors.
"Security measures at the nuclear facilities in Iran are, reasonably, tightened," Kazem Gharibabadi tweeted Tuesday, hinting at repeated acts of sabotage against Iranian nuclear sites in recent years, which have been blamed on Israel.
“The IAEA inspectors have gradually come up with the new rules and regulations,” Gharibabadi added.

The US chaotic and disorderly withdrawal from Afghanistan has created seismic effects mostly felt by the Saudis along with other US allies in the region who are now deeply concerned about being abandoned by their unreliable American friends.
Former US President Donald Trump, who had initiated the process of US withdrawal from Afghanistan, took a jab at President Joe Biden on Friday. After inveighing against the way Biden handled the Afghan withdrawal, Trump warned of the US ceasing to exist in the next few years.
In an interview with Newsmax, Trump said, "Our country has gone really downhill in the last eight months like nobody's ever seen before."

A special committee for legal and international investigation into the assassination of Iran’s top General Qassem Soleimani and his entourage was held on Tuesday at the presence of managers and representatives of relevant state and military agencies.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian hosted the meeting of the follow-up committee related to the martyrdom of General Soleimani at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Italian expert Pastori Gianluca is of the view that Western experience in Afghanistan was "disappointing".
"Overall, the Western experience in Afghanistan was disappointing," Gianluca tells the Tehran Times.
"The international community faced massive human and financial costs to reach only minimal results, possibly no result at all."
